Announcing ILCN’s new Regional Representative for Africa: Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association
Since 2018, ILCN has been working to strengthen and expand our connections and engagement with conservation practitioners and organizations in Africa. We are delighted to announce that beginning this month, Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association (KWCA) will serve as ILCN’s Africa regional representative. ILCN regional representatives support and facilitate knowledge exchange amongst practitioners in the region and around the globe.
With a strong record of leadership and expertise in community-led conservation, KWCA supports the efforts of community and private conservancies to improve the wellbeing of both communities and wildlife, working in collaboration with grassroots, nonprofit, government, and private sector partners across Kenya and throughout Africa.
KWCA has been a longtime friend and partner of the ILCN, following a scoping trip to several countries in Africa organized by Kiragu Mwangi, the immediate former ILCN regional representative for Africa and current ILCN Steering Committee member. We look forward to working with KWCA’s Founding CEO Dickson Kaelo and Communications Manager Joyce Mbataru to support and strengthen network-building and capacity for community and private conservation across the continent.
