The National Conference Protected Areas & Conservation was born of the understanding that the world must effectively conserve at least 30 percent of land and sea area by 2030 to relieve pressures on ecosystems, biodiversity and human health and that, to do so, we must create new ecologically connected protected areas and manage them effectively. This three-day event serves as an exchange of knowledge and best practices on the conservation of biodiversity inside and outside protected areas to contribute to Italy’s commitment to the Global Biodiversity Framework. Hosted by WWF Italy, this is year’s conference is the third edition and will focus on recovering the deep motivations that will guide us in establishing new protected areas and in protecting and building connection between existing areas. The conference will be conducted in Italian.
