Conservation and affordable housing are often portrayed as competing land use priorities. In reality, these goals are often well-aligned. Across the country, land trusts and affordable housing developers are increasingly partnering to work advance their missions and achieve their communities’ goals. This webinar will explore the ways that land trusts can support affordable housing efforts while advancing their conservation missions. Steve Rosenberg will present key points from his 2025 Kingsbury Browne Distinguished Practitioner paper. Other presenters will include Sarah Brooks, Executive Director of the Methow Conservancy in Winthrop, WA; Rebecca Gillman Crimmins, affordable housing professional and co-convener of the Hudson Valley Alliance for Housing and Conservation; and Forrest King-Cortes, Senior Director of Community-Centered Conservation at the Land Trust Alliance.
